Cambodian Government Increases Subsidies for Pregnant Women and Young Children

On 21 August 2023, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Ministry of Public Health of Cambodia issued Inter-Ministerial Prakas No. 252/23 SHV.PrK on the Implementation of a New Program of Benefits for Pregnant Workers and Children Under Two Years Old (the “New Prakas”). It replaces Prakas No. 497 SHV.PrK dated 8 May 2018 issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and updates and increases the allowances and benefits for pregnant workers and children under two years old. The changes were retroactively effective from 1 August 2023.
