Notification No. 5367 GDT dated 14 February 2023 issued by the General Department of Taxation on “2022 Market Interest Rates for Loans”
February 20, 2023The General Department of Taxation (“GDT”) issued a notification announcing the 2022 market interest rates for loans. The rates were determined by calculating the average annual interest rate of 11 large local commercial banks. They are as follows:
- 8.78% per annum for loans denominated in Khmer riel
- 8.35% per annum for loans denominated in US dollars
The above interest rates are to be used for the implementation of withholding tax obligations on fringe benefit tax on loans to employees and for loans from related parties only.
